A dog friendly stroll for trans and nonbinary people
About this Event

Join us in Queen's Park for a short spring time stroll with your pet pooch. Don't have a dog? That's OK, you're still welcome to come!
We'll aim to take in some of the sights while letting the dogs meet and play. If you are bringing your pooch, please walk them responsibly.
Exact meeting area will be given by email, nearer to the event, to those who have signed up/registered.

Please note this event is for trans and nonbinary people only. Please do not book unless you are trans/nonbinary.

Who we welcome

We welcome all trans and nonbinary folks over 16, as well as people with a trans history or are exploring their gender. Anyone living in or travelling to Glasgow can join.

Registration

Spaces are limited so please register in advance.

Use this Eventbrite form to register. Registration is for 1 person only. If you wish to book for someone, please make another registration using their name. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email.

You can also contact the event organiser Eve (she/they) at [email protected], or phone 0141 255 1767 and leave a message for Eve.

If something changes and you can no longer attend the event, please let us know as soon as you can so your space becomes available for someone else. You can cancel your space on Eventbrite or contact Eve.

Access

There are multiple entrances and exits to Queen’s Park – all are wheelchair accessible, although entering at Langside Road does present a steep walk into the park.

Queen’s Park does have some hilly areas – we will walk within the capabilities of the attendees on the day.

There is an accessible toilet located within the Glasshouse. For full details see Accessable.

Remember to dress with the weather in mind!

If you’d like to let us know of anything that LGBT Health and Wellbeing can do to make the event easier to access, or if you have any questions, please get in touch with Eve: [email protected], or call 0141 255 1767 and leave a message for Eve (working days are Tuesday and Wednesday)

Dog Safety

For everyone (and every dog) to get the best out of our walk, here are some things to keep in mind:
1) Consider how your dog responds to meeting people and other dogs. Some dogs might be aggressive, scared or anxious in certain situations, while others just want to play!
2) Just like people, some dogs need more space than others. We'll keep this in mind as we walk.
3) Remember to keep your dog on a lead.
4) For information, there are two ponds in the park.
5) Lastly, the practical stuff: remember to take what you need with you for your dog. e.g. poo bags, a portable bowl and water, treats.
