Dispatches (100):
Dispatches offers a personal window into a young woman’s journey through addiction in 2013, before the official "opioid crisis" began. This play explores the role of the caregiver in the face of a confusing and inadequate system, as Ashley's aunt, Jane, struggles to balance supporting her mother, dying in hospice across the country, and responding to her niece, who calls on her for help in moments of crisis. An unflinching look at the costs of addiction, the gaps in our systems of support, the effect on families and the human costs of this ongoing epidemic in our modern world.
