About this Event
NOTE -- Same workshop at Sharpsburg location: March 30th at 4-6pm
Digital safety for the resistance
This session will cover digital security basics for all of us living in ~*~late-stage capitalism and the rising tides of fascism~*~
What will be covered
You can expect to walk away with a solid understanding of how to start:
- assessing your own digital security posture
- securing your devices and accounts
- using secure communications tools
The material covered in this session is meant to be introductory, practical and informative for most people just living their daily lives but also relevant for folks who perhaps want to keep a lower digital profile than most (think: activists).
$10/person
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. If $10 is not an accessible option for you, please send us an email at [email protected] to RSVP for this workshop. You will not be asked to explain your financial situation.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Abigail LP (they/them) is a local activist, artist and educator. By day they work as the Program Manager for the Digital Security Training Team at Freedom of the Press Foundation. Also by day, they produce art with arts collaborative folkLAB, participate in community organizing and offer training on a range of topics including digital security, using art as activism, and understanding antisemitism through an anti-colonial lens. If they’re not doing any of that, they are probably biking or cuddling a cat.
