Connect and learn the digital offer from the following speakers:
- Ian Wollington, Skills for Life Manager -Culture, Tower Hamlets Council. Idea Store Learning offers free or cheap digital courses for residents.
- Shawkoth Khan , Idea Store Digital & Information Development Manager, Tower Hamlets Council. Idea Stores are helping residents stay connected and access vital services through for example the National Databank scheme. In collaboration with the Good Things Foundation, Idea Stores are supplying free SIM cards pre-loaded with mobile data, talk minutes and texts to anyone struggling with the rising cost of living.
- Zakia Sheba, Senior Project Manager, ELBA. Zakia leads on the Digital Inclusion programme, where ELBA supports and facilitates a range of digital skills sessions across east London, including the Device Donations programme. ELBA has been providing volunteers for the Doctor Digital sessions in Tower Hamlets.
- Dave Williams, Director, Reconome. Reconome partners with UK Councils and charities to rehome IT hardware where it will have the greatest social impact. Working with the National Device Bank to provide free devices, cheaper devices and wrap around support.
- Carol Taffinder, Project Coordinator, Tower Network PCN Limited (NHS PCN9). Carole works PCN9 representing 6 x GP Practices in the SW locality of Tower Hamlets and delivers various Improved Patient Outcome projects, including events called ‘Doctor Digital’, teaching patients how to use the NHS App to re-order their repeat prescriptions and access their NHS health care.
- TBC Emma Kyffin Community Engagement Manager, Good Things Foundation is coordinating the national databank, device bank and is also offering digital skills support.
- Linkage Plus is offering free, face to face digital support for residents aged 50+ in Tower Hamlets Speaker TBC .
