Discover one of Mexico's most meaningful traditions through its stories, flavours and Mezcal.
We set the evening with the a traditional Day of the Dead altar as a backdrop, we will talk about traditon and what this day represents for Meixico. On this day we remember our loved ones no longer witgh us. Please bring a photo of your family and friends so we can remember them together.
What do you really know about Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead)?
Far from being a Mexican version of Halloween, Día de los Muertos is a deeply rooted tradition of remembering and honouring those who have passed away. Families come together to celebrate their lives, prepare special foods, create colourful altars and share memories.
And mezcal has a special place in this tradition.

We'll also take a closer look at the traditions behind Día de Muertos, including:
• The meaning of the ofrenda (altar) and the objects placed on it.
• Why food and drinks are offered to loved ones who have passed away.
• The symbolism of marigolds, candles, photographs and calaveras.
• How Indigenous traditions and Catholic influences came together to create the celebration we know today.
• Why Día de Muertos is ultimately a celebration of life, memory and family, rather than a celebration of death.

We invite you to learn about mezcal and the different production categories hosted by Los Hermanos.
🥃 The Mezcal Experience
During the evening, you'll taste six different traditional mezcals and learn:
• What mezcal is and how it is traditionally produced.
• The different agave varieties used to make mezcal.
• How the agave, region and production process influence flavour.
• How to recognise and appreciate different mezcals.
• How mezcal is traditionally enjoyed in Mexico.
• Why a spirit can only legally be called Mezcal when it meets Mexico's standards and certification requirements.

1. Cocktail on arrival and regional Oaxacan Antojitos
2. Introduction to what is a Mezcal, stages of production from the growth in the ground to bottling. Different categories of production.

🌮 A Taste of Mexico
The experience takes place at Los Hermanos Mexican Taqueria in Brunswick, a restaurant committed to bringing authentic Mexican food and flavours to Melbourne.

We will break down the current laws and production simliarities between these categories while you sip and experience some exceptional ultra small batch selections paired with traditional Mexican small dishes. This will be a memorable evening not to missed with limited spaces available.
