Program: Terrarium Building WorkshopDuring this meeting attendees will be invited to put together a classic terrarium with a high humidity-loving (or terrarium culture) begonia, provided by the Begonia Collection within the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The esteemed Don Miller, recent recipient of the Charles Jaros Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Begonia Society, will lead the program. Don, along with several branch members, who are experts in terrarium-culture begonias in their own rights, will be available to help with the process. We request that attendees bring their own terrarium vessel (pro-tip: glass canisters work well and can be found for as low as $12 at any big box store). Growing media and one begonia each will be provided until we run out of begonias to share. Snacks will be available, and attendees are encouraged to visit.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in growing begonias, growing their collection of begonias, or in plant conservation in general.
We will host a raffle for beautiful begonias for your home collection. Tickets are six for $5. Cash only, please.
As always, visitors and friends are welcome. FREE
