About this Event

We're excited to invite you to our 4th Detroit Greenspace Bus Tour in partnership with the National Wildlife Federation. During the bus tour, we will visit a range of greenspace locations created and established as Detroit Bird City parks and Sacred Grounds Detroit sites. These spaces across the City of Detroit showcase community driven conservation restoration efforts supported by both organizations.

The bus will leave from Palmer Park (1313 W 7 Mile Rd) and we will wrap up back at Palmer Park around 1:00 pm. This event will run rain or shine. So be sure to dress for the weather. Please bring your own water bottle.

The Detroit Bird City (DBC) project aims to transform unmaintained land and unused lawns into native plant meadows that function as beautiful community greenspaces with natural habitat beneficial to wildlife such as birds and pollinators.

Sacred Grounds is a National Wildlife Federation (NWF) program that recognizes congregations, houses of worship and faith communities who both create wildlife habitat and actively link faith practices and caring for the environment. NWF works alongside local partners and diverse communities through the process of installing various wildlife habitats (e.g., native plant gardens, green stormwater infrastructure projects) and engaging the broader community in the process.
