About this Event

The inaugural DesignLab Symposium will explore how design research can transcend disciplinary boundaries to address complex social, environmental, and technological challenges. Join us afterwards for the private view of the accompanying exhibition.

Symposium 14:00-17:00

The inaugural DesignLab Symposium will explore how design research can transcend disciplinary boundaries to address complex social, environmental, and technological challenges. Through two focused panels—one on interdisciplinary and one on transdisciplinary design research—the event will examine methodologies, collaborations, and case studies that embody DesignLab’s vision for inclusive, sustainable, and context-aware innovation.

Following the symposium, guests are invited to join us for the private view of the exhibition. Please book a ticket for each part of the event you would like to attend.

Exhibition private view 18:00-20:00

Design Lab Showcase is an exhibition highlighting the ideas, prototypes and experiments emerging from ARU's new Design Lab initiative within the Arts, Media and Creative Technologies Centre. We are using this as a platform to explore our thinking, examine our creative process, immersive technology, and connecting with the shapers and thinkers in this evolving region.

Join us to find out more about ARU's design capability and emerging research in the areas of interdisciplinary design and immersive technology within the East of England.

Click here to view the full opening times of the exhibition.

Event hosted by ARU’s Dr Idrees Rasouli - ARU with the Media, Arts and Creative Technologies Centre.

Event presented as part of the Cambridge Festival.
