As our workplaces become more technology driven, designing a workspace with careful consideration of the humans behind the controls is crucial in preventing injury, promoting wellbeing and productivity, and delivering comfort to the end user. This webinar examines the factors that need to be considered when designing any workspace – from office desks to warehouses, tower cranes and other mobile plant spaces – that requires a human to be involved. These factors include ergonomics, lighting/glare, temperature/ventilation, accessibility, design for psychologically supportive environments, and more. It presents methodologies that you can explore as you scope out projects, make changes, or purchase a new piece of plant. You will learn about human-centered design principles, user needs and preferences, design opportunities, usability evaluation methods, and more. You will gain written methodologies, scoping checklists and risk assessments to incorporate into your safety management systems to create an environment that fosters worker satisfaction, engagement, and wellbeing.
