Decode Your Meal: Find out what your hawker meal provides at Lau Pa Sat

To bring the survey findings into the setting where many everyday meal choices are made, Zespri invites diners to decode their meal at Lau Pa Sat from 7 September to 4 October.

The campaign turns the nutrition awareness gap into a practical, everyday experience: helping people understand what familiar meals provide, then showing how a simple, nutrient-dense addition such as kiwifruit can make those meals more nourishing.

At the heart of Decode Your Meal is The Meal Decoder, an AI-powered tool that uses food-recognition technology developed by Singapore Management University. Designed to recognise Asian dishes commonly found in Singapore, the technology helps users uncover the estimated nutritional content of familiar hawker meals. Users simply take or upload a photograph of their meal. The Meal Decoder identifies the dish before providing an estimated breakdown of its nutritional content, including key macronutrients and micronutrients. Users can also see how adding a kiwifruit could change the meal’s nutritional profile.

 After completing the experience, users can redeem a complimentary two-piece pack of Zespri Kiwifruit at the Lau Pa Sat pop-up, while stocks last, or receive a $2 FairPrice voucher for Zespri Kiwifruit.

From 7 to 13 September, Zespri will also take over the atrium at Lau Pa Sat’s Street 8, where visitors can:

• Take part in a public voting activity

• Try their luck at a spin-and-win for Zespri merchandise and prizes

• Learn more about the nutritional benefits of kiwifruit

• Complete the Meal Decoder experience and redeem a complimentary two piece pack of Zespri kiwifruit, while stocks last

• Sample Zespri kiwifruit from 11:30am to 1:30pm on weekdays

The Meal Decoder will remain available throughout the four-week campaign, helping users better understand what their meals provide and consider simple ways to add more nourishment to their day.
