Throughout the day Wolverhampton glass artist Suzie from Suzie Lavender Contemporary Glass will be teaching two sessions of fused glass making techniques. You are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon workshop or you can attend both sessions for the day at a discounted price. These workshops are suitable for beginners or as a refresher course.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
Morning Session 10:30am-12:30pm: Intro to Glass Fusing – A fascinating fused glass workshop where Suzie will be introducing you to some fused Glass techniques. This workshop is suitable for beginners or as a refresher course. During the workshop you will learn about basic glass fusing and inclusion techniques with float glass and also basic cutting and layering with coloured glass. Participants will be introduced to many materials and various tools. In this 2 hour workshop each participant will make 2 items: A coaster and a hanging suncatcher.
Lunch (not provided) 12:30-1:30pm. Wightwick Manor has a cafe on site and many areas for enjoying your lunch in the fresh air if the weather suits.
Afternoon Session 1:30pm-3:30pm: Floral Creations - A colourful afternoon class creating floral and plant inspired pieces. Each participant will be designing and creating a glass panel using murrini glass and vitrograph accessories, and also make some plant pot decorations. During the workshop you will learn about glass cutting and fusing techniques and will be introduced to the materials and tools. You will be able to choose from a selection of glass accessories to create your design in colours of your choice.
Participants who are regular attendees of Suzie’s workshops are welcome to make different projects to save repetition if they contact Suzie in advance.
All creations will be kiln fired by Suzie following the sessions and then collection from Wightwick Manor (or postage of the work can be organised) from 14days later.
Places are limited and expected to book up very quickly. Suitable for adults and for teens age 13 and over, under 16's must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Please note that access can be limited/difficult persons of disability due to the room’s location on the first floor. There is no lift and the room is not wheelchair accessible. Other venues where Suzie also holds workshops do have access however, please contact Suzie for more information.
