They’re here! Submitted for the approval of the Jenkintown horror community, we ask you to leave the comfort of the light and step into the world of the supernatural with us at our fourth-annual TerrorThon from September 25th to 27th. This three-day event celebrates all cross-sections of the horror genre, featuring poltergeists, zombies, and classic monsters, all on our big screen!
The festivities continue on Saturday with a 35mm screening of George A. Romero's DAY OF THE DEAD! 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘁 hiwaytheater.org/terror
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: The conclusion to George A. Romero’s landmark “Dead” trilogy follows a group of scientists and soldiers taking refuge in an underground missile silo in Florida while the undead dominate the outside world. As tensions rise between the military and scientific factions over how to confront the flesh-eating apocalypse, one researcher makes a startling discovery after attempting to train a zombie known as Bub. Showcasing gut-churning practical effects by Tom Savini, DAY OF THE DEAD remains the trilogy’s most underrated — and eerily prophetic — chapter.
Presented on a 35mm print courtesy of Exhumed Films.
**Because we are operating with a single projector, this special 35mm screening will be presented with a short intermission to accommodate a reel change. **
