Join us for a captivating evening talk on "Circular Space Economy" with Prof. Massimiliano Vasile as part of The David Elder Lectures series in The Planetarium at Glasgow Science Centre.🗣️ About The Talk
Establishing a circular space economy is one of the most compelling engineering research challenges of the future and the only viable solution to ensure a sustainable human use of, and presence, in space. This lecture presents a possible vision of the future of space and the initiatives around the world to move towards a circular space economy, starting from explaining what space sustainability is and why it is essential to ensure our future access to space. It will then dive into some of the challenges humanity is facing to mitigate the proliferation of space junk and the opportunities offered by in situ resources to establish a sustainable space economy.
🎤 About The Speaker
Professor Vasile is a Professor of Space Systems Engineering and Director of the Aerospace Centre of Excellence in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Previously, he was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Head of Research for the Space Advanced Research Team at the University of Glasgow.

Tickets are available to attend each talk in the David Elder Lecture series in-person at The Planetarium.
