New York Times bestselling author Daphna Edwards Ziman announces the relaunch of her acclaimed novel The Gray Zone, now available in paperback and eBook through Cinémoi Publishing.
The Gray Zone is a dramatic thriller about survival, justice, and the hidden struggles faced by children growing up in the foster care system. At the center of the story is a former foster youth who becomes one of the most skilled identity thieves in the country and joins forces with a Harvard-educated defense attorney to confront corruption within the justice system and expose human trafficking.
Daphna Edwards Ziman is a New York Times bestselling author, writer, director, producer, songwriter, and internationally recognized humanitarian known for her advocacy on behalf of foster youth and vulnerable children. She is a passionate advocate for children. She founded the nonprofit Children Uniting Nations to mentor at-risk youth and lobbying for child welfare legislation while directing global initiatives against human trafficking through the Justice for Women International. In 2025, she was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the UN 80th Anniversary Gala for her global advocacy.
Miguel A. Núñez Jr. is an accomplished American actor, producer, and writer whose career spans more than four decades across film, television, and stage. His body of work has inspired generations of performers, while his passion for storytelling and commitment to his craft have solidified his legacy as one of Hollywood’s most beloved actors. Núñez rose to prominence on the acclaimed CBS drama Tour of Duty. He went on to star in The Return of the Living Dead, Juwanna Mann, and memorable films including Street Fighter, Scooby-Doo, and Why Do Fools Fall in Love. On television, Miguel has appeared in numerous fan-favorite series including Sparks, Joey, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and currently on BET’s The Family Business.
Presented by the Friends of the Santa Monica Public Library in collaboration with Barnes & Noble. Books will be available for purchase on-site via Barnes & Noble. A book signing will follow.
