Are you aged 14–18 and beginning to think about your next steps in education, training or employment?
Join Inclusive Bytes CIC for a practical session designed to help you recognise your strengths, communicate your skills and explore suitable progression routes.
During this two-hour workshop, you will learn what makes an effective CV and produce a basic CV that can be developed as you gain more experience. You will also identify transferable skills gained through education, hobbies, volunteering, personal projects and everyday activities.
The session will introduce different pathways into digital and creative careers, including college courses, apprenticeships, training opportunities and employment.
What you’ll explore
During the session, you will:
- Learn what information to include in a CV
- Produce a basic CV that you can continue to develop
- Identify your personal strengths and transferable skills
- Consider skills gained through education, hobbies and projects
- Learn how to describe your skills clearly to employers and education providers
- Explore suitable college courses and training opportunities
- Discover apprenticeship and employment pathways
- Begin planning your next steps towards education or work
Who is this session for?
This session is for young people aged 14–18 who live in or around Oldham and would like support preparing for future education, apprenticeships or employment.
No previous experience is required.

This workshop is Session 5 of a free six-session course designed to help young people explore digital careers, develop practical skills and prepare for their next steps.

What do I need to bring?
You do not need to bring any equipment. Everything required for the session will be provided.
Participants may bring details of any qualifications, volunteering, hobbies, projects or previous experience they would like to include in their CV, but this is optional.
