Community Doodle Map Workshop with Dave Draws
Join acclaimed Manchester-based illustrator Dave Draws for a unique community art workshop celebrating the people, places and stories of Oldham.
Dave specialises in creating intricate doodle maps that blend detailed illustrations of buildings and landmarks with playful, creative sketches. Over his 10-year career as a full-time artist, he has worked with a wide range of clients including BBC Sport, Chanel, Red Bull, Channel 4 and Nike.
In this workshop, you'll work alongside Dave to help create a large-scale artistic map of Oldham borough, capturing both the town's rich heritage and its vibrant present day. Through drawing, storytelling and creativity, participants will contribute their own memories, favourite places and personal connections to Oldham, ensuring the artwork truly reflects the people of OLdham.
The finished map will be proudly displayed in Oldham Market and officially unveiled at Nostalgic Oldham on 19 September.
Everyone is welcome to take part – whether you've lived in Oldham all your life or have recently made it your home, whether you're young or old, artist or beginner. Together we'll celebrate Oldham's past and present, creating a lasting piece of artwork.
