Currency Creek Arboretum Open Days - Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 September
🌿 Discover the World’s Largest Eucalypt Collection at Currency Creek
As part of National Eucalypt Day, Currency Creek Arboretum will open its gates to the public on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, offering a wonderful opportunity to explore one of the region’s unique botanical treasures.
Just a 20-minute drive from Victor Harbor, the Currency Creek Arboretum is home to the world’s largest collection of eucalypt species, with more than 950 species and subspecies and over 10,000 individual trees growing across 32 hectares.
Established and managed by eucalypt expert Dean Nicolle, the arboretum is primarily dedicated to research and conservation of Australia’s remarkable diversity of eucalypts.
Free guided tours will be held on both days at 10 am and 2 pm, led by Dean and running for approximately two hours. The arboretum will be open from 9 am to 4.30 pm, with no bookings or registrations required—simply turn up on the day.
Visitors can also browse eucalypt books and rare and unusual eucalypt seedlings for sale.
The tour involves walking through the arboretum, so sturdy walking shoes and a hat are recommended.
Come along and discover the incredible diversity of Australia’s iconic eucalypts, right on our doorstep!
