CULTS
New York's CULTS have spent fifteen years perfecting the bittersweet anthem – songs that sound euphoric on the surface but cut you open underneath. Formed in 2010 by Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion while both were students in New York City, the duo broke through almost immediately with their viral debut "Go Outside," earning both Best New Music honors from Pitchfork and a deal with Columbia Records quicker than most bands get a rehearsal space. Their self-titled debut landed in the top 50 albums of 2011 and launched them onto stages alongside Pixies and Vampire Weekend.
What followed was a decade of fearless evolution, resulting in five studio albums that never sounded like the same band twice. Their 2022 TikTok breakout "Gilded Lily" introduced them to an entirely new generation, while their 2024 album To the Ghosts is among the most emotionally precise records of their career. Live, CULTS bring a full band and a sound that is bigger, louder, and more alive than anything their recordings suggest, while Follin commands the stage with a presence that stops rooms cold. This is the headlining set of the summer – and you will not want to have missed it.

DIIV
Zachary Cole Smith founded Brooklyn’s DIIV in 2011 as a solo bedroom project that quickly expanded into one of indie rock's most critically celebrated acts and defined what guitar music can feel like in the 21st century. Their 2012 debut Oshin — shimmering, woozy, and endlessly layered — became an instant touchstone of the shoegaze revival. 2016’s Is the Is Are pushed deeper and darker, while their 2019 follow up Deceiver was heavier still.
Their 2024 album Frog in Boiling Water was four years in the making – and their most ambitious and emotionally complex work yet: a record about endurance, about staying in the slowly heating water of right now, about finding your way through anyway. And after opening the American leg of Depeche Mode’s 2023 Momento Mori world tour at arenas like Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center, SilverVox Film+Music Festival offers a rare chance to catch their layered, hypnotic sound up close in an intimate 1,143 seat historic theater. As a bonus, SilverVox will also be screening their film ‘Boiled Alive’ on June 19th.
KISHI BASHI
There is no one quite like Kishi Bashi. The Emmy-nominated singer, songwriter, violinist, and filmmaker, born Kaoru Ishibashi in Seattle and trained at Berklee College of Music, has spent over a decade building a body of work that defies easy description and rewards close listening for a lifetime. Armed with a violin, loop pedals, beatboxing, keyboards, and an orchestral imagination that answers to no genre, his live performances are events that build entire sonic worlds in real time, layer by layer, from a single instrument, until the room is lost inside something it didn’t even know it needed.
From the lush chamber pop of his breakthrough 151a (2012) to the socially urgent Omoiyari (2019), a meditation on the Japanese American internment that became a documentary acquired by MTV and Paramount+, to his 2024 release Kantos – a kaleidoscopic journey through sci-fi, philosophy, ancient ruins, Brazilian jazz, and ’70s funk – his five studio albums span a mix of genres and influences without equal. He has toured with Regina Spektor, performed alongside Of Montreal, and soundtracked the award-winning Apple TV+ original series Stillwater.
If you have never seen Kishi Bashi perform live, prepare to be changed. If you have, you already know why this is the one you don’t want to skip.
