About this Event

The CSP North West Regional Network invites all CSP members to attend our 2026 Study Day.

Theme: The Three Left Shifts

This year’s study day will explore how the NHS, following the 10-Year Plan, is shifting from a reactive, hospital-based model to a proactive, community-focused system through three interconnected shifts:

Moving care from hospital to community
Transitioning from analogue to digital
Pivoting from sickness to prevention

Throughout the day, speakers will share insight, innovation and best practice aligned to these shifts, with sessions exploring national reform, outpatient transformation, digital pathways, rehabilitation technology, work and health, and community-connected MSK care.

The programme will include sessions from Sara Hazzard, CSP Assistant Director of Strategic Communications and Co-Chair of the Community Rehabilitation Alliance, who will explore physiotherapy’s role in national reform and introduce the CSP’s new Outpatient Framework.

Steve Adams, Commercial Programme Manager of Innovation and Industry Partnerships, will be joined by Dr Cabella Lowe, Professional Head of Musculoskeletal Health at Optima Health and Post-doctoral Researcher at Queen Mary University of London, to present on the use of digital triage to improve safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and satisfaction across an NHS MSK pathway.

Rachel Stockley, Associate Professor at the University of Lancashire, will share research on rehabilitation technology adoption, including the key barriers, facilitators and considerations for equitable implementation in clinical practice.

Colleagues from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust will also present on the Manchester Work Well programme, exploring why work should be considered a key health outcome within MSK physiotherapy, and on Community Appointment Days as part of a shift towards coordinated, person-centred and community-connected MSK care.

There will also be a choice of virtual reality demonstrations available on the day, giving members the opportunity to experience and explore how emerging technologies can support education, clinical decision-making and rehabilitation practice.

This study day is a valuable opportunity for CSP members to:

  • Deepen understanding of current system reform
  • Learn from colleagues across sectors
  • Explore innovation and practical examples of service transformation
  • Network with members from across the North West
  • Get more from your CSP membership

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
