Event Overview:
Join us for an impactful evening with Meagan McCarthy, a former Deputy Sheriff with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, as she shares her incredible journey of resilience, recovery, and advocacy. Meagan’s experiences bring a unique perspective to the challenges faced by law enforcement, first responders, and individuals dealing with trauma.

In 2019, during a domestic disturbance response, Meagan was overpowered by a suspect who seized her firearm and fired shots as she sought cover. This life-threatening encounter, captured on video, underscores the dangers faced by law enforcement officers and the critical need for mental health support after traumatic events.

Following this experience, Meagan became a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, focusing on post-traumatic recovery and the importance of seeking support. Her personal story of overcoming adversity offers valuable lessons for all attendees, whether they’re first responders, CRPA members, or anyone interested in building resilience and fostering mental wellness.
