Saturday, October 24
Create Your Own Ofrenda Items with Mattie Rhodes
1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
$15 per person | Space is limited
In conjunction with Connecting Cultures Across Kansas City: The Hand-in-Hand Folk Art Collection, located on the Museum’s second floor, join us for an afternoon exploring the history, traditions, and symbolism of Día de los Muertos.

With guidance from Mattie Rhodes Art Center, create your own traditional ofrenda items, including a colorful sugar skull, tissue-paper marigolds, and papel picado. While you create, enjoy Mexican hot chocolate and pan de Muerto provided by Luis Hernandez from Panaderia De Las Americas.

Want to make your afternoon even more festive? Additional drinks, including the Museum Margarita, will be available for purchase at Elixir, located downstairs.

Come celebrate Día de los Muertos through art, tradition, food, and community!
