About this Event
Are you 16–25 and from the Midlands?
Join us on Saturday 4th October at 11-4pm for our FREE creative workshop in Birmingham to share your real, unfiltered views on:
- How your data can be used in research! From healthcare to social services and education there’s lots of data collected about us. We want to know how you think it should be used within research.
- How mental health technology can support mental health. There are lots of new forms of technology including apps, virtual reality and brain stimulation devices. We want to know what you think about them and how they should be involved healthcare.
- How mental health conditions can be predicted or prevented! Early mental health support is the best kind of support, but we want to know your views on how this should work.
We are the Midlands Advisory Group (MAG), a youth advisory group who are involved in providing input on a range of different mental health research projects. This event is all about creating a future of mental health research that includes our voice, our ideas and our impact. We want to flip the script of how mental health research runs and make sure young people’s voices are front and centre.
What to expect?
We’ll be using a range of creative methods to share our ideas – we don’t want to use traditional methods that are difficult to engage with. Think arts and craft, creative writing or just sharing your ideas on a post-it note. You’ll get to try out different types of mental health technology and join a group of young people who are passionate about making a difference. Lunch will be provided, and we can cover your travel costs if needed!
Important things to consider before booking your places:
- Please do note that all attendees must be aged 16-25 and based in the Midlands.
- We will ask all attendees to fill out a consent form and if you’re under 18 we will need consent from a parent/carer as well.
- If you are a support worker filling this out in support of a young person, please do make that clear
