Returning to Westport for a special one-off show, Kiwi hip hop legend King Kapisi.Once again he crosses the Great Divide, bringing a backpack full of lyrical fire and explosive beats to The Criterion on February 21st.
And yes… you read that right, FREE ENTRY.
King Kapisi was the first hip hop artist in Aotearoa to receive the prestigious Silver Scroll Award at the APRA Awards, winning Songwriter of the Year in 1999 for Reverse Resistance.
In 2022, he was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music and the community.
A powerful vocalist fusing hip hop, reggae and jungle Kapisi is a proud Samoan, always waving the flag and screaming from the plantation.
