About this Event
Crafting Love for Shelter Paws
Join us at the Arverne East Nature Preserve Welcome Center on April 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) for a fun and cozy gathering! We’ll be crafting beds and toys for shelter dogs and cats who need some extra comfort and love. Whether you’re a pro or just starting, come hang out, craft, and make a difference together. All crafting is beginner friendly. Bring your creativity and good vibes—let’s make some pawsome memories!
Donations for collars, leashes, unexpired treats/food gently used towels and beds will also be collected.
All items created and collected will go directly to Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) to help provide comfort to animals waiting for their forever homes. Learn about the world of rescue with Zion's Mission, a New Hope partner with ACC, while enjoying light snacks and drinks and making a small difference, one BED at a time.
ALLERGY WARNING: catnip will be available for cat toys.
About Pillows for Paws:
Pillows for Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to bringing comfort and love to shelter animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs. The group fulfills this mission by donating essential items—beds, blankets, toys, treats, and food—monthly to the New York City shelters.
Pillows for Paws believes that the emotional well-being of shelter animals is just as important as their physical health. Many animals arrive at shelters due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment, and creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment is crucial.
When animals feel cared for and valued, they develop trust, calm, and confidence, allowing their personalities to shine through and improving their chances of being adopted.
About Zion's Mission Animal Rescue:
Zion’s Mission Animal Rescue is a NYC based 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue, specializing in dogs. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, train, and find loving homes for as many abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted animals as possible. We are further dedicated to providing hospice care to those most vulnerable, our beloved seniors, and those who are terminally ill. Additionally, we work within our community to promote responsible pet ownership.
Our rescue is comprised of a small group of extremely dedicated volunteers. We rely solely on life-saving donations from our generous supporters to complete a rescue from start to finish.
