About this Event
We love elders, so let's come together as a community and celebrate elderhood!
The evening will be MC’d by documentary filmmaker, Scott Kirschenbaum (The Last Ecstatic Days), and feature three short films hand-picked by him that show us how to laugh, cry, and embrace our golden years.
This event will benefit the launch of Elderflower's Farm Camp, a holistic, multigenerational day center, due to open our doors in early 2024!
SLOMO
Director: Josh Izenberg
Producer: Amanda Micheli
Disillusioned with his life, Dr. John Kitchin abandons his career as a neurologist and moves to Pacific Beach. There, he undergoes a radical transformation into SLOMO, trading his lab coat for a pair of rollerblades and his IRA for a taste of divinity.
Para Fuera: A Portrait of Dr. Richard Bing
Directed by Nicholas Jasenovec
"Para Fuera: A Portrait of Dr. Richard J. Bing" is a short documentary produced in 2009 about Dr. Richard J. Bing on his 100th birthday. The award wining director Nicholas Jasenovec, executive producers Eric Hadley and Sean Carver directed and wrote this short film. The concept for the film came following a letter Dr. Richard Bing wrote to Microsoft after he learned of their new search engine Bing.
Jumor:A Journey Through Jewish Humor
Directed by Scott Kirschenbaum
In honor of the 20 year anniversary of its release, come check out Scott’s first documentary “Jumor: A Journey through Jewish Humor.” The film depicts his experience going on the road as a Yale undergraduate whippersnapper to do standup at Jewish nursing homes around the country and interview elders about the role humor plays in their lives. Absurdity and Yiddish jokes ensue!
