Come learn this valuable geometry-based method of portraiture using the elegant medium of Conté crayon and pastel on toned paper. Our artist, Jo Schramer, will walk you through using the “envelope technique” to help visualize and map the complex angles of the face on the page.
This class is great for artists of varying skill levels and disciplines as it teaches a foundational geometric approach to life-drawing that can be applied to illustration, architecture and even fashion-design. Participants will learn and practice the techniques of the class using one of the pre-printed photographic portraits provided. After this class you will be able to use the Conté medium and envelope method to practice your portraiture skills with friends and family!
