Die BASIS Fortbildung lädt ein, intensiv und systematisch über einen längeren Zeitraum das Phänomen Contact Improvisation in einer Gruppe zu erleben und zu erforschen. In drei aufeinander aufbauenden Modulen erfahren wir Grundprinzipien, hilfreiche Techniken und wesentliche Bewegungsqualitäten der Contact Improvisation. Die Arbeit in einer vertrauten Gruppe eröffnet Möglichkeiten für Qualität und Tiefe in der eigenen tänzerischen Entwicklung sowie in der Begegnung im Tanz. Es wird Raum für auftauchende Fragen und Themen geben und ein gesunder Austausch über das eigene Erleben kultiviert.
Wir werden uns nützliche technische Aspekte in unserer Kommunikation mit der Schwerkraft anschauen, die uns erlauben Mühelosigkeit, Leichtigkeit und Fluss in unserem gemeinsamen Tanz zu erfahren. Das Spiel mit Gewicht wird genussvoll, präziser und steuerbar, Bedürfnisse und Grenzen finden ihre Kraft und Klarheit, so dass wir gemeinsam einen sicheren Raum im Tanz kreieren.
Tiefer-schauend, werden wir somatisch-erlebend arbeiten und Bewegung von innen erspürend erforschen. Im Solo und mit der Unterstützung unserer Partner können wir die Verbundenheit und das Zusammenspiel der Anatomie in Bewegung in unserem Körper erfahren. Wir können aus dem eigenen Erleben heraus forschen, finden und verfeinern und unser Körperwissen bewußt erweitern.
Die BASIS Fortbildung ist für Menschen konzipiert, die die Grundelemente noch genauer verstehen und anwenden möchten. Sie dient auch als Vorbereitung für das Contactjahr Hamburg was im Anschluss in 2027 stattfinden wird. Unsere Fortbildung möchte die Basis legen, Klarheit und Wissen vermitteln, von wo aus, ein Spiel im Nicht-Wissen lebendig entstehen kann.

Elske und Angela-Mara
teilen eine tiefe Faszination für das Öffnen und Kreieren von fokussierten Räumen, in denen CI gelebt, getanzt und erforscht werden kann. In dieser Kooperation verbinden sie ihre langjährige Erfahrung als Tanzende und Lehrende, ihre individuelle, intensive Contact- und Bewegungsforschung und ihre Leidenschaft und Hingabe für CI.
Im Co-Teaching fliesst ihr Wissen zusammen, eine lebendige Forschung wird sichtbar. Ihr Austausch inspiriert und nährt sich im Zusammenspiel, sowie die Tänze und das Lernen, das in diesem Feld entstehen möchte.
Elske Seidel (Berlin)
ist eine global vernetzte und international engagierte Contact Lehrerin, Tänzerin und Bewegungsforscherin. Sie unterrichtet seit drei Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich und von ganzem Herzen Tanz und Improvisation, Contact seit 2004.
Ihre Hauptforschungsfrage 'Das Wesen von Tanz und seine Vermittlung' motiviert seit Beginn ihres Studiums 1992 bis zum heutigen Tag den Kern ihrer Arbeit.
Elske hat eine unerschöpfliche Faszination Contact Improvisation in ihren Feinheiten und ihrer Tiefe zu erforschen und öffnet dafür den Raum und das Bewusstsein in ihrem Unterricht. Ihr Tanz und ihre Forschung sind getragen von ihrer Arbeit in der Natur, als Quelle für Wissen und Inspiration.

Angela-Mara Florant (Hamburg)
sie studierte »Arts du spectacle« (darstellende Künste) in Besançon (Frankreich) und schloss dieses mit einem Master ab. Sie lebt als freie Regisseurin in Hamburg, unterrichtet wöchentliche Contactklassen, gibt Workshops und organisiert Jams und Festivals. Seit 2015 ist sie Co-Organisatorin des NORDTANZ Festivals in Hamburg und ist in der Leitung des Tanzstudios Triade. Wenn sie nicht Contact tanzt, unterrichtet sie Pilates, Tanz und Theater für Kinder oder führt Regie/Choreografie in freien Produktionen.

The CI Basic Training Program offers a clear supported space to focus on the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation, laying the ground for our practice. As we enter into the experience of essential states and qualities of Contact Improvisation, core movement principles and specific techniques will emerge that support us in finding ease and flow in our movement, both solo and with a partner.
Looking at precise technique as well as working somatically, discovering and learning from our bodies, we can widen our experience and the joy of dancing Contact Improvisation. The progression of the three weekend-modules allows for material to build and community to grow. Together, in the ease of continuity and connection, we will create a space to discover, explore, question, research, and enjoy.
The training program opens our sense of possibility, connecting to different layers and aspects of Contact Improvisation. The stream of choice becomes three-dimensional. We can move in any direction both metaphorically and physically. Embodying a deeper joined physical and intellectual knowing, we will move, practice and dance, as well as read, write, talk and listen.
The CI BASIC Training Program is also a preparation for the CONTACTJAHR HAMBURG which will happen the following year in 2027.

Elske Seidel (Berlin) and Angela-Mara Florant (Hamburg)
share a deep fascination for opening and creating focused spaces in which CI can be lived, danced and explored. In this collaboration, they combine their many years of experience as dancers and teachers, their individual, intensive contact and movement research and their passion and dedication for CI.
In co-teaching, their knowledge meets and a living research becomes visible. There exchange inspires and nourishes each other, as well as the dances and learning that emerge in this field.
Angela-Mara and Elske both share a deep appreciation for Nancy Stark Smith, and in their work glimpses of her may shine through. Nancy's legacy is alive in the bodies that were in contact with her and this knowing connects and grows through touch.
Elske Seidel
based in Berlin, is a passionate movement researcher, CI dancer & teacher, deeply committed to CI and its community internationally. She has been teaching dance and improvisation full time and wholeheartedly for three decades, CI since 2004.
Her boundless fascination and joy exploring and researching Contact Improvisation in all its depth and subtleties, inspires her workshops, privates, ongoing classes, and each of the projects she creates.
She holds a master's degree in Sport Science, Education and English from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Her main research question 'the essence of dance and its teaching' motivates the heart of her work from her early days at University until the present day.
Her work recognizes nature as a core source for knowledge, understanding and inspiration. Meeting the moment, she offers organic support for the individual and the instant community as it emerges, allowing each to feel, find and follow what they need to grow and dance.

Angela-Mara Florant (Hamburg)
Angela-Mara Florant (GER) had her first experience with CI during her performance arts studies in Besançon, France. Based in Hamburg, she teaches several regular contact classes, gives workshops and organizes jams and festivals (NORDTANZ Festival). Since 2015, she is co- director of the dance studio “Triade” in Hamburg. In 2022, she brought to life the Contact CompanI, a dance company performing CI. When Angela-Mara is not dancing or teaching contact she is teaching corART (Pilates), directing independent theater productions, choreographing dance pieces (mostly based on CI). Teachers that have inspired her work are: Nancy Stark Smith, Jörg Hassmann, Nita Little, Anjelica Doniy, Mirva Mäkinen, Martin Keogh, Frey Faust, Scott Wells, Andrew Hardwood, Daniel Lepkoff,...
For me CI is an art form. I love allowing my dance to be inspired by the composition of the room.
CI opens up space,
Space within me and outside of me,
Creative space unfolding.
I enjoy looking at movement from an anatomical perspective and at the same time love the playful unfolding of stories that can occur while dancing CI. Over and over again finding and reinventing myself while continuously rediscovering and uncovering new aspects of the form are my favorite subjects of my ongoing research.
