Community Volunteering - Creative Packing Day @ Oasis Camden

Our creative packing sessions combine art with impact.

Volunteers decorate canvas bags and pack them with essential items and handwritten cards, ready for donation to our 180 charity partners in London.

The exact contents depend on the materials we have in surplus on this given day, but typical bag themes are:

• Back to School Bags containing educational equipment for children from low-income families
• New Mum Kits containing a mix of essential and pampering items for young mothers in need
• Essentials Kits containing underwear, socks and waterproofs for men experiencing homelessness.

On the practical side, the essential items in these kits will help their beneficiaries through immediate, pressing challenges.

On an emotional side, receiving a personalised gift and message that a stranger has clearly put effort into can have a huge impact on someone's mental health, helping them to feel supported as they navigate a difficult time in their life.

FAQ:

Clothing: Wear whatever you are comfortable in. This event is indoors.

Food: You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks. There is a fridge, microwave and kettle onsite.

Group Size: You are welcome to grab tickets for yourself and up to 4 others. For groups of more than 5, please get in touch directly.

Accessibility: Our office is wheelchair accessible. If you have a medical condition or disability and are concerned about participation, please reach directly and we can discuss your needs.

Families: Please only sign up if you are aged 18 or over. We welcome younger volunteers, provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
