A chance to hear how St Luke's is making a diffrence in the Community. We are deeply committed to uplifting the beautiful yet disadvantaged area where we’re based: Galligreave’s estate, Bank Top and Wensley Fold.

Here is just one story on how St Luke's has made a diffrence “I first came to St Lukes in the Autumn of 2022. That year became homeless because of the sudden bereavement of my partner and after sleeping rough for a short time had got a room in the Salvation Army. I was alcohol dependant and had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

The first time I went to Church at St Lukes it really opened my eyes to how much it had changed since I went to school. I was welcomed in, it was warm and lovely, and all the children were playing and having so much fun without being told to be quiet or to stop running around. Everyone was chatting and smiling, I was welcomed in with no judgement.

In the Autumn 2024 I decided to get Baptised as I knew that God and the Church had been the one constant thing in my life through all these troubled times. It was one of the best things I have ever done. My life has totally changed; I have not had a drink for over a year. I now sing in the Church Worship Team and serve in lots of Church groups. I have job with the NHS as a Researcher and have a permanent home.

St Lukes has been a guiding light in my recovery and never gave up on me. I have so many wonderful friends now and a fantastic life. It took a while, but they never gave up and supported me through everything. I will always be thankful for their acceptance and love.” - Victoria Knight, Church Member.
