Come to the Cove! Celebrating the hidden wetland along the Harlem River

Join us at the top of Manhattan on the banks of the Harlem River through Sherman Creek Park and Swindler Cove.
Explore the wooded paths of the park, a natural oasis for birds, pollinators, trees and neighborhood residents alike. Find hidden sound installations by experimental composer Max Kutner, composed in relationship to the natural soundscape. Offer your hands to help restore a native wetland by fortifying the beach with NYRP and tune into audio stories through Sherman Creek Park through the Holes in the Wall Collective scavenger hunt. With refreshments made from botanicals harvested by the Urban Agriculture team at the Riley-Levin Garden.
Max Kutner's immersive sound installation along the Sherman Creek Trail, featuring a distributed speaker array that plays pre-composed ambient sounds from discrete vantage points using sustainable power will be available all week, but Max will be activating the sound installations live on 9/20 and available for those that would like to learn more from him directly about his creative process and composed work.
