Colorado Brazil Fest 2024 Samba Dance Workshops

Join us for an energetic and exhilarating Samba dance workshop led by passionate instructor Lorin Hansen, from Samba Fogo in Utah! With years of experience in Brazilian dance, Lorin brings her passion and expertise to every class, creating a vibrant and welcoming environment for dancers of all levels.

In this workshop, Lorin will guide you through the fundamentals of Samba, a lively and rhythmic dance style that embodies the spirit of Brazil. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the basics or an experienced dancer wanting to refine your technique, Lorin’s engaging teaching style will help you develop your skills while having a blast.

You'll learn traditional Samba footwork, body movements, and styling, with a focus on musicality and expression. Lorin’s approach emphasizes not only the physical aspects of the dance but also the cultural and historical significance of Samba, giving you a well-rounded understanding of this iconic dance form.

• Sunday Sept 22 1:00 - 2:30PM: Samba Dance Beginner Level
• Sunday Sept 22 3:00 - 4:30PM: Samba Dance Intermediate/Advanced Level

BIO:

Lorin Hansen is a passionate instructor, performer, and lifelong student of Samba dance and percussion. Lorin has taught and performed for hundreds of schools, events, and venues in the Western United States as well as Canada, and was voted “Best Individual Dancer” in Utah in 2016. Lorin is a two-time Samba de Malandro Champion, and has been awarded four round trip flights to Brazil for winning the International Samba Congress “Female Malandro Contest” in 2018 and 2019 in Los Angeles.
