Have you every wanted to learn color theory? Or even just learn the basics of color mixing with oils? Then this class is for you!In this two day course, learn how to navigate color mixing in order to get the result you have been searching for!
The first half of day one will consist of mixing oil paint, learning how to tint, tone, and create a simple color wheel (A great reference tool to have for your future art making!). Continue the day by sharpening your skills with color swatch matching. Lastly, each artist will create their own “Albers Square” on a sheet of Arches Oil Paper.
On Sunday, test out those new color mixing skills on a still life! A simplified demonstration will be given in the morning, followed by time to work on your own canvas. Photo references will be provided of a still life set up; color and value will be the focus of the exercise, rather than a finished, detailed oil painting.
When: Saturday June 13th & Sunday June 14th from 9AM to 1PM each day
Age: 18 +
Skill Level: Beginner
Price: $315 (includes 2 days of instruction, canvas board, pallet paper, oil paper, painter tape, & canvas pad for color mixing)
Optional Paint/Medium Fee: $60 - You can bring your own paints and medium, however if you do not have any and would prefer that Samantha brings you some, you can purchase the paint/medium for an additional fee.
