Collinwood Family Night

A weekly OST event using SEL principles to strengthen family bonds, build community wellness, and support healthy relationships for all ages
About this Event

Wednesday Family Night is a recurring, one-night-per-week OST event designed to strengthen family bonds and build community wellness through the principles of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). Parents and caregivers will be introduced to the five core SEL competencies through weekly therapeutic themes that support healthy relationships with children, adults, and the broader community.

Program Highlights:

• Led by guest line dance instructors, parents and caregivers will participate in therapeutic line dance for mental and emotional relief, cognitive stimulation, and building positive social connections as a form of movement-based emotional wellness.
• Therapeutic and community engagement professionals will introduce weekly health topic themes and provide resources and best practice coping strategies.
• Youth activities will be provided by approved OST providers and are available to youth with completed parent consent.
• Youth will be grouped by age: grades K–5 (school age) and grades 6–12 (middle and high school).
• Healthy food and refreshments will be provided for attendees while supplies last.
• Parents must register on Eventbrite prior to weekly entry and must agree to a parent consent form for youth to participate in activities.
• For the safety of our community, licensed security is present inside and outside the venue at all times. Wednesday Family Night is committed to providing a safe, positive, and welcoming experience for every family.
