Join us for a casual conversation exploring Nina Chanel Abney: The Pursuit of Happiness, led by Virginia MOCA staff and special guest TeezySoDope. As we move through the galleries, Teezy will share her perspective as an artist, songwriter, and creative director, drawing connections between Abney’s visual language and her own work in hip-hop and performance.

About TeezySoDope
TeezySoDope is a Virginia based multifaceted artist, songwriter, creative director, and performer whose work is rooted in hip-hop culture. A board member of the Washington D.C. Chapter of the Recording Academy, Teezy gained national attention through her “TeezyTuesday” video series and appearances on NBA All-Star Damian Lillard’s 4Bar Friday platform, earning praise from figures such as Sway, Rapsody, and Hit-Boy.
A two-time Veer Award winner, Teezy has released multiple projects including UnapologeticQueen, QuaranTeezy, PointToTheDope, and LemonTree. She has performed coast to coast, opened for D Smoke, headlined Something in the Water, and brought her signature energy to festivals and stages nationwide.
Beyond performance, Teezy is the founder of SoDopeStudios LLC, specializing in songwriting, performance coaching, creative direction, and original content for brands. A former basketball coach and educator, she continues to mentor emerging artists in the 757 and is also the creator of TeezyFest, a Virginia-based music festival.
