3 Simple Principles

1. We Dance without shoes:

This allows us to connect more fully with the ground (socks are ok).

2. We Dance without words:

This makes it easier to be in a meditative state.

3. We Dance as we are:

Drugs/alcohol free, phone/camera/video free, just be yourself; with respect for ourselves, the space, and one another.

Q&A

• What to bring? A bottle of water, an open mind and a body ready to dance.
• What to wear? We recommend you wear clothes that allow your full range of motion.
• Doors will close at 19:30 so that we can create a safe container for everyone and so there aren't any distractions.
• What is Ecstatic Dance? Ecstatic dance is a free form dance/movement practice in which you are invited to feel into your body and express any emotions that are present through movement. Let the music lead you as you weave your way through the different soundscapes, unleashing the wild dancing self in a safe and respectful environment. The dance will connect you with yourself and others.
• What type of music? Most sets will include a variety of musical genres, sonic wave of all tempos, a full spectrum of emotions. At some dances you will find the vibe to be more organic and tribal, and at others more electronic, futuristic, or urban.
• Are children allowed? Our dances are family-friendly and under 12s can come for free (subject to availability/event not selling out!). Just please remember this is a practice and a moving meditation and so children must be supervised so that the space is not disrupted for others. We recommend to bring ear defenders / plugs for sensitive ears.
• Please note that by purchasing a ticket you agree to take full responsibility of yourself, your health, your well-being and all of your belongings whilst at the session and that Cocoon is not liable for any injury or harm that you may incur at this practice/class.
