Coastal Nature Therapy Walk at Crown Point Park
About this Event
Join me for a restorative Blue Walk!
I'm a marine biologist and PhD candidate studying what time in nature does to restore the human brain and how we build relationships with the natural world. I'm also a certified nature and forest therapy guide that grew up in San Diego. This walk is part of the Natural Intelligence Project, where I translate that research into experiences you can actually have outside.
We will meet at the bathrooms next to the basketball court. I will share with you a little history of the land and then we will slow down and use our senses to fully appreciate the sounds, sights, and smells on the trails. After we do a little exploring, we will stop and sit to have a little chat about what we are noticing. But, mostly we will be paying attention to the nature that is around us.
This is not a hike or a natural history walk. We will be exploring Mission Bay in all of its summertime glory. Leave your headphones at home and have your phone on Do Not Disturb. This as a chance to have a two hour tech detox in an urban park!
