Program Description

Become the leader your team deserves. Our coaching program for leaders teaches you to coach like a pro, transforming how you guide and inspire others. You’ll learn by doing – receiving expert coaching, practicing with real people, and applying new skills in your workplace. By the end, you’ll confidently use a simple framework to bring out the best in your team, boosting both their success and yours. No fluff, just practical skills that stick.

Transform your leadership to:

  • Bring out the best in your team
  • Create a workplace where everyone wants to do better
  • Encourage employees to contribute their energy and creativity
  • Achieve goals by giving employees more power to act

Why This Coaching Program is Different:

  • Coach in the context of your supervisory responsibilities
  • Learn to assess when coaching will work and when it won’t
  • Experience the power of coaching with six personal coaching sessions
  • Build your confidence through weekly coaching practice so your skills stick

How it works:

Week 1: In-Person Intensive Dive deep into the art and science of coaching:

  • Distinguish coaching from other leadership approaches
  • Learn to assess the situational context for coaching opportunities
  • Master a simple yet powerful coaching framework

Weeks 2-5: Applied Learning

  • Weekly coaching sessions with a PCC to experience coaching firsthand
  • Practice coaching with a chosen coachee to build confidence and skills
  • Implement coaching techniques in real business scenarios

Week 6: Online Mastery Session

  • Share success stories and lessons learned
  • Refine your coaching skills through peer and instructor feedback
  • Develop strategies for integrating coaching into your leadership style

Prerequisites: Basic interpersonal skills training such as active listening and giving feedback are recommended.

Meet Your Facilitators

Jocelin Caldwell

I am a passionate Human Resources Consultant and Career Coach (not a formal therapist with a couch). This gives me an objective, professional, fresh viewpoint to help clients unveil their career aspirations and work through challenges.

For me, nothing is more rewarding than connecting people to meaningful work and the workplaces they will thrive in. I also love supporting good workplaces as they transition into great ones. Building on my vibrant and diverse background in recreation and youth leadership development, human resources, and career development, I bring high-level energy, a wide range of experience, and laser focus to every workday. I am dedicated to helping people pursue their dreams, to fostering purposeful connections within teams, and to linking organizations with the best candidates for their positions.

After completing my Bachelor of Arts at the University of Victoria, I went on to train as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation and Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP). I have been a coach, recruiter, and facilitator for over 50 different local and international organizations. I have spent more than 12 years as a Human Resource and Program Management generalist with experience in recruitment and selection, terminations, return to work, policy development, and performance management.

I am an active volunteer in my community and enjoy participating in a number of charities. I love running special events such as Soul Sessions and facilitating the mentoring portfolio for the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHRBC). In my free time you will find me on a Hornby Island beach or somewhere outside with my family.

Sarah Hood

As a facilitator, coach, and leadership development consultant, I've spent three decades helping organizations build stronger teams, develop exceptional leaders, and shape their vision for the future.

With a career spanning over 30 years my journey has also taken me through diverse leadership roles in K-12, colleges, universities, local government, financial, public sector, and not-for-profit organizations.

As a human, I bring a big-picture, visionary perspective, I am fueled by passion and unwavering values, and I never stop learning. My personal connection to the natural world keeps me grounded, and leads me to champion a less formal, slightly irreverent approach to organizational norms.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce with a specialization in Human Resources and graduate level education in Labour Relations from the University of British Columbia. Midway into my HR career I added an MA in Leadership and Training followed by Certification as an Executive Coach from Royal Roads University. I am trained in Organization Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC) and am a certified Lumina Practitioner.
