Calgary based singer songwriter Carter Felker comes to town with his third album hot of the presses. The titles of Carter's albums alone suggest the nature of his songwriting - Everyday Life, Even the Happy Ones Are Sad, and now.....Loser. Sound like dirges? Maybe, but Carter's songwriting and insight into the day to day human condition has a knack for making his brand of melancholy poignant and very real. Combined with his fingerpicking prowess, these songs are jewels. I know, I toured with him a few years ago and he had me tearing up every night. I am looking forward to being the opener at this show where I will sing some straight alcohol forward country songs I've written over the past few years as well as a some of the pandemic era songs I've polished up for the occasion.
