Clay Tree Plaque
In this beginner-friendly stoneware clay handbuilding class, you'll create your own decorative tree plaque, approximately 9 inches in diameter. Our instructors will guide you through shaping the trunk, branches, leaves, and textures to create a unique piece that reflects your personal style. Add names, initials, decorative stamps, or meaningful details to make your plaque truly one of a kind.
Each plaque includes a wire hanger on the back, making it ready to display once completed.
A $10 instructional fee reserves your seat, with the $45 project fee paid at the workshop. Your project fee includes clay, instruction, firing, glazes, and a return visit to finish your piece. The project fee includes clay, instruction, firing, glazes, and a return visit to finish your piece.
After the workshop, your plaque will be dried and kiln-fired. Within approximately 10 days, you'll receive notification that your piece is ready for glazing. You may return during any of our regular drop-in hours to glaze your plaque—no appointment is necessary. Once glazed, we'll fire it one final time, creating a durable, weather-resistant stoneware piece you'll enjoy for years to come.
This workshop is appropriate for ages 13 and up, and no previous clay experience is required. Teens ages 13–16 are welcome when attending with a paid adult.
