Classic Series: Heirloom Beans—$75
About this Event
Long before beans were a pantry afterthought, countless regional varieties were prized for their distinct flavors, textures, and creamy interiors. This class introduces you to a range of heirloom beans, explaining what makes them different from standard supermarket varieties and why preserving these older strains matters for flavor, biodiversity, and food history.
We'll taste several varieties cooked simply — with just enough seasoning to let their natural character come through — and discuss best practices for soaking, cooking, and storing dried beans at home. You'll leave with a new appreciation for an ingredient often overlooked, along with practical tips for making beans a more flavorful, versatile part of your cooking.
