About this Event
Join the NSRWA as we head out onto the flats of the South River to learn how to clam. The program will be guided by local experts as we learn the art of clamming by seasoned veterans. Local clam species, explore unique habitat, and understand their importance to our estuary ecosystem.
Park and hop in the brightly colored NSRWA Van. Van transportation to clamming site will be provided due there bring no public parking available at the clamming site.
People are encouraged to get a license but it is not needed if they just wish to learn/watch us clam. No one will go home empty handed! You can get your clamming license through one of the following links: New England Marine in Brant Rock or Belsan's Bait and Tackle in Scituate.
We strongly advise folks to wear footwear that can get wet, preferably waders or rubber boots and rubber gloves. We kneel when clamming so please wear appropriate clothing to keep your knees protected and dry.
