About this Event

" The Urgency of Testimony in a World of Denial"

Experience the power of personal stories as a holocaust survivor shares her experiences at the 23rd Annual City of Berkeley Holocaust Remembrance Day program.

The City of Berkeley is sponsoring a secular Holocaust Remembrance Day program, honoring a distinguished survivor and remembering those who were murdered; those who survived, resistors and liberators.

We come together as a community to reflect on the integrity of memory and its importance.

In a world filled with denial, the urgency of personal testimony is crucial to our understanding of history.

This year’s 2026 program features Anna Rabkin, child survivor from Lviv, Poland.

Anna’s inspirational story is an example of extraordinary strength, courage and resilience in the face of life-threatening circumstances.

A central element of the program includes music and candle lighting by survivors and their family members paying tribute all those who were murdered during the Holocaust and ensuring that their memory lives on.
