City Hike: Voyageurs Pathway
About this Event
Join us for the next edition of our City Hiking Series as we explore one of the most scenic waterfront routes connecting Ottawa and Gatineau.
This community hike will take us from downtown Ottawa across the Portage Bridge and along the beautiful Voyageurs Pathway, with views of the Ottawa River, city skyline, bridges, and surrounding green spaces. We’ll continue toward the Canadian Museum of History before crossing back into Ottawa via the Alexandra Bridge.
Our City Hiking Series is centered around exploring the green spaces that exist within the city — the scenic pathways, waterfront routes, parks, and outdoor areas that are often overlooked in everyday life. So often, when we think about hiking or spending time outdoors, we assume we need to leave the city entirely. Through this series, we want to highlight that Ottawa and Gatineau are filled with walkable, nature-filled spaces that deserve to be explored and appreciated.
This series is about slowing down, moving our bodies, reconnecting with community, and experiencing the city from a different perspective.
Whether you’re coming solo, with a friend, or looking to meet new people, this hike is designed to be beginner-friendly, social, and accessible.
Route Overview:
Supreme Court of Canada → Wellington Street → Portage Bridge → Voyageurs Pathway → Canadian Museum of History → Alexandra Bridge → Ottawa
Estimated Distance:
Approximately 5–6 km
Estimated Duration:
Approximately 2–2.5 hours at a relaxed social pace, including short stops and photos.

This is a beginner-friendly social hike open to all experience levels.
