This beginner-friendly guided walk is designed to introduce you to mushrooms in a way that’s engaging, approachable, and surprisingly eye-opening. We’ll explore what fungi are, how they grow, and how to start recognizing common species you’re likely to encounter right here in Ottawa.

Expect a mix of:

• Practical identification tips
• Wild (and sometimes bizarre) mushroom facts
• Ecological insights you’ll never unsee again
• A relaxed pace with plenty of time for questions

No baskets, no pressure, no prior knowledge required—just curiosity.

Details:

• Duration: 3 hours (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
• Park on Brookridge Crst, and go up the path between houses 593 and 595.
• Trail: Easy, but not fully accessible
• Audience: Adults / general audience
• What to bring: Comfortable shoes, water, weather-appropriate clothing, mosquito repellent/netting (even if you don't think you will want to use it, trust us.)
