Shibashi (meaning 18 in Mandarin and pronounced sher baa sher) is a series of 18 energy-enhancing exercises that co-ordinate movement with breathing and concentration. It is a gentle, beautiful, and flowing Tai Chi Qigong exercise routine that is both a joy to do and deeply relaxing for people of any age.
Shibashi is a contemporary form of Tai Chi Qigong developed by Professor Lin Hou Sheng in 1979.
Shibashi is designed to improve the general health and wellbeing of the practitioner.
The gentle rocking motions and stretching movements improve circulation and digestion.
This event will focus on practicing the first 10 forms of Shibashi interspersed with practicing circumambulation, a form of walking meditation.
Circumambulation is the act of walking around a sacred object, place, or space, and is deeply connected with mindfulness practice.
What you will learn:
*The first 10 forms and their associated meridians and organ activations.
*An understanding of how to manifest yin and yang energy in the body during standing and walking Qi Gong.
*The difference between the internal feeling of absorb and project and condense and expand and how to apply these energies in conjunction with stationary and circular movement.
*An understanding how we move from our centres and experience how Circlewalking can have a positive benefit on proprioception and balance.
