The four-race Charleston Sprint Triathlon Series at James Island County Park features a 600-yard freshwater swim, 12-mile bike ride, and 5K flat run. Over 30,000 people have raced the series over the years, and the series has been honored as one of the Top Ten Charleston Signature Sport Events by the Charleston Metro Sports Council.

Race Registration
Register for $70 per per race. Registration ends on the Wednesday before to each race. No race day registration.
Race Details
Participants must be comfortable swimming 600M in open water and riding a bicycle on roads open to traffic.
Packet pick-up will be available on-site from 6-7 a.m. on race day.
Participants receive one t-shirt per series.
An award ceremony will be held on-site post-race.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own, pre-filled water bottles. Water stations will be set up on course.
Bibs are required. Body marking will not be offered. Lost bib penalties will be enforced.
Race will be conducted by wave start.
Participants are encouraged to bring equipment to complete onsite bike repairs.
Tri Club Team Competition
A Tri Club Team Competition will be held at Race 3 on July 26. All individual team members must be registered for Race 3. Rosters, (one team per club, minimum of five team members), must be submitted by 12 p.m. on Friday, July 17 by emailing the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator. Awards will be presented in the following category:
Fastest Team (Average time of all team members who cross the finish line)
Most Mugs (total of all mugs awarded regardless of place, AG, category)
Youth Triathlon

Accessibility
This race welcomes triathletes of all experience levels, including beginners. Accessible parking and an accessible portable restroom are available on-site. The event features an open water swim that begins from a wading start. The Charleston County Parks Emergency Services team will be stationed both on the water and along the shoreline for safety. The bike course travels both inside and outside the park along city roads, while the run course consists of two loops within the park on paved trails and roads. Charleston County officers will be stationed along on-road sections to ensure participant safety, and the Charleston County Parks Emergency Services team will be positioned both on the water and along the lake bank.
