The Trail Race Everyone’s Talking About is Back!
The 2nd Annual Champion Mine Trail Race returns on Sunday, October 11, 2026 bringing even more trail-running fun to the streets and trails of Nevada City. Hosted by the Bear Yuba Land Trust and the Sierra Trailblazers Run Club, this one-of-a-kind race combines history, community, and spectacular scenery into an unforgettable race-day experience.
Whether you’re chasing a personal record or simply looking for an incredible day on the trails, you’ll enjoy a course that winds through towering pines and a swinging bridge, gravel roads, and scenic singletrack. Starting at the historic Miners Foundry in downtown Nevada City, runners head up Broad Street before making their way along Champion Mine Road and into the beautiful Deer Creek Tribute Trail System.
This year, there’s a distance for everyone! Choose from a Half Marathon (13.1 miles), the new 10K (6.2 miles), or a 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles). Whether you’re a seasoned trail runner, trying your first off-road race, or cheering on family and friends, the Champion Mine Trail Race is the perfect way to celebrate the trails that make our community so special.
Lace up your trail shoes, soak in the fall colors, and join us for a race that’s as fun as it is memorable!
