Join us for a playful one-day ceramics class where you’ll design and create your own butter bell from clay. Courtney, a passionate wheel-throwing artist, is thrilled to share this hand-building project with you. You’ll be able to use your creation in your kitchen repeatedly, and we guarantee it will spark joy.In this class, you’ll learn basic hand-building techniques, such as pinch pots and slab building, to construct your design of choice. Once you’re done crafting your masterpiece, you’ll have the option to hand-paint your piece with a few select ceramic underglaze paints, if you prefer something more detailed. Otherwise, the instructor will finish the glazing process from your choice of selected glazes.
This is an entry-level class; no experience is needed. Available to students 18+.
Light snacks & drinks will be provided.
Following this session, your instructor will take care of finishing glazes and firing. Your piece will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after class.
The nature of working with ceramics is a slow and meditative process, so bring your friends and explore your creativity together. This class is the perfect way to usher in creativity for the new year! We’re looking forward to creating with you!
Please note:
It’s recommended to trim your nails before class for easier handling of the clay and wear comfy clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Feel free to bring an apron.
