Community CPR Course

Bystander CPR has been shown to increase the chance of survival for an individual who experiences sudden cardiac arrest. SWFD offers free courses to its community members to teach CPR and AED protocols, as well as first aid for an individual who is choking.

This is a hands-on course that consists of an instructional video and exam, followed by time to practice CPR measures based on medical emergency scenarios. This class covers protocols for adults, children, and infants.

After completion, you will receive a certification through HSI. This class is ultimately designed for community members and bystanders willing to help in an emergency and does not meet the requirements for BLS for healthcare providers. Although some First Aid is reviewed, you will not be certified with First Aid, therefore it does not meet the requirements for USCG CAPT licensing.
