Celebrating the Contributions of Northwest Nurses to the NHS

Join us in the South Asia Gallery to celebrate the start of South Asian Heritage Month and explore a newly installed exhibition highlighting the contributions of nurses from South Asia and across the globe to healthcare in the UK.
Curated by nurses working across the North West, this new installation shares some of the key experiences of the thousands of nurses from South Asian countries who have supported the NHS and cared for communities across the UK for decades.
Visitors are invited to drop in throughout the evening to explore the gallery and meet some of the nurses who have helped curate the installation in partnership with the Royal College of Nursing and the South Asia Gallery. The process was facilitated by artist Maya Chowdhry and Dr Rajesh Patel.
A panel Q&A session will take place from 6pm–6:45pm in the Kanaris Lecture theatre, folowed by light canapes and drinks. During the Q&A session, members of the curatorial group will discuss their involvement in the project, reflect on the stories and experiences represented in the installation, and share insights into the importance of recognising the contribution of South Asian nurses to the NHS. The session will also include an opportunity for networking and conversation.
